They decided to give Aubrey pedialyte again and see how it works… she is still leaking through a small hole in her tummy but it’s not a whole lot. She has been on the pedialyte for a day now and isn’t really leaking much unless she gets upset and starts to cry… so if she could just not cry ever things would be better. Anyway they are talking about maybe trying something else tomorrow if the pedialyte goes well so we will see. On the plus size she is at the highest weight she has ever been at and all of her labs were normal the other day.

Matt talked to someone from surgery today and the plan is to wait… big shock. The fistula is a “low output fistula” and the best thing to do is wait. They usually wait 6 weeks then they will try to do other things to close it up… problem is that there is no real proven method that works 100% of the time to close it so it is best for the body to heal itself. Not an answer that we like but one we have to deal with. I wish we could have gone to the walk but there was no way that we were going to leave her here all alone with no one here to be with her. We are going to try to go to the walk here in Dayton in June but we aren’t going to collect money for this one. Thank you to everyone for the donations and thank you for your thoughts and prayers… we could use some good luck.

This Saturday was the Great Strides walk in Indianapolis, IN. We had a great turnout! We walked along the canal in Downtown Indy and enjoyed the scenery and company of great family. We hope you all can join us next year! We missed you Aubrey, Matt, and Carrie!

Our team goal was $1,500 and we $2,410 plus some! Go Team!!!  Thank You so much everyone for contributing! We couldn’t have done it without you!

Yesterday they were talking about putting something else in that can do the job of a picc so this morning they brought Aubrey down to surgery and put in a port. This way thay can start giving her some nutrition and get her healed up. They said they will leave it in after we leave that way if anything happens it is there and it doesn’t really do any harm to leave it in they just flush it once a month till they take it out. Cross your fingers that her tummy heals up quick and we can get out of here. Don’t forget the Great Strides walk is this weekend if you want to donate you only have a few days left.

We thank everyone who has donated and hopefully they can find a wonder drug for CF soon so nobody else has to go through this.

Well Aubrey is still leaking so we are still waiting to see what happens. So far the plan is to let it heal on it’s own the doctor said that is the best thing to do and that is what they want to happen so cross your fingers and pray that it happens. If she is still leaking on Monday they might try something else but we don’t know for sure the doctor gave us some ideas about what might happen but it’s still up in the air. On the plus side Aubrey is still cute and she isn’t in any pain so she is just hanging out. Well Aubrey has sprung a leak in her tummy. Today she wasn’t really leaking so hopefully the problem is fixing itself… once they are sure she is not leaking they are going to wait a week and start feeds again. So we aren’t going home any time soon. She is still gaining weight and we had movie night on friday watched 27 dresses… Aubrey wasn’t really a fan she fell asleep. Cross your fingers that everything goes well and that we don’t have to go back to surgery… I told Aubrey no more surgery and she better listen!
